Myrtle Beach Full Moon King Tides August 9 - 14, 2025

Beach Hunters - The King Tides Are Back August 9 Through August 14, 2025

Myrtle Beach August 2025 King Tides

What are King Tides

Oceanic tides are higher and lower than normal during a new or full moon because the sun, moon, and Earth align. This alignment creates stronger gravitational forces that pull on the ocean's water. Treasure hunters refer to these as King Tides and prefer the lower tides because they can hunt in lower areas without having to deal with seawater.

Lowest Tides

The Full Moon is on Saturday, August 9, at 3:55 AM, so your lowest Myrtle Beach tides throughout the full moon cycle will be on the following dates and times:
  • Saturday, August 9th: low tide 2:12 AM 0.2' & 2:12 PM 0.1'
  • Sunday, August 10th: low tide 2:54 AM 0.0' & 2:59 PM 0.1'
  • Monday, August 11th: low tide 3:35 AM -0.2' & 3:47 PM 0.2'
