What Are New Moon Tides
Oceanic tides are higher and lower than usual during a new or full moon because the sun, moon, and Earth align. This alignment creates stronger gravitational forces that pull on the ocean's water. Treasure hunters refer to these as King Tides and prefer lower tides because they can hunt in lower areas without dealing with seawater. King Tides are not always during full-moon cycles; sometimes they are more significant during new-moon cycles.
