Myrtle Beach New Moon Tides July 2026

What Are New Moon Tides

Oceanic tides are higher and lower than usual during a new or full moon because the sun, moon, and Earth align. This alignment creates stronger gravitational forces that pull on the ocean's water. Treasure hunters refer to these as King Tides and prefer lower tides because they can hunt in lower areas without dealing with seawater. King Tides are not always during full moon cycles; sometimes the tides are more significant during a new moon cycle.

Lowest Tides Through April:

The New Moon is on Tuesday, July 14, at 5:43 AM, so your lowest Myrtle Beach tides throughout the new moon cycle will be on the following dates and times:
  • Monday, July 13th: low tide 1:12 AM -0.2' & 1:02 PM (-0.7')
  • Tuesday, July 14th: low tide 2:08 AM -0.4' & 2:00 PM -0.8'
  • Wednesday, July 15th: low tide 3:00 AM -0.5' & 2:56 PM -0.7'
